Product rave: Maybelline Dream Creamy Foundation

I am always highly scepical when trying a new foundation. I have been seriously stuck in my ways for ages and purchasing new foundations has never appealed to me much as I worried that they would dry my skin out.
I decided to try Revlon's colourstay quite a while ago to see what the fuss was about and, as it didnt make my face fall off :p I have since purchased more drugstore foundations.
My most recent is the maybeline dream creamy foundation.

This product is readily available in Boots and Superdrug and is being well advertised by Maybelline. So after swatching it and seeing that it appeared (as the name states) creamy, I thought that it may well work for me; and so far it really has.
It comes wth a sponge applicator but I prefer to use a foundation brush. I am really pale but the shade I selected suits me perfectly (004 for reference). I have worn this to work everyday for a week and Im pleasantly surprised by its performance

PROS:
- Glides onto my skin
- Makes my skin look fresh/glow
- Does not feel cakey
- Powder blush has adhered well (this is normally a problem for me as powder products can dry me out)
- Doesnt dry my skin out, even in central heating or very cold weather
- Reasonably priced/ readily available

CONS:
- Im not sure how it would suit oily skin
- Requires a touch up around the late afternoon mark (but all foundations I have tried do!)
- Can too too shiny when applied over thick moistriser, therefore may need a powder to set
- Not a great shade selection

My conclusion is that I really do love this foundation, although it has only been a week. If you have dry skin I would reccommend that you consider giving this a try as I was surprised and deligted by the results.
Has anyone else tried this product?

Go forth and blog ;)

So I wasn't quite sure of what I should begin my blog with, I'm thinking there is a good chance nobodys gonna read it anyway lol. However I shall struggle on.
Below Ive attached a link to my (extremely amateur) YouTube video chatting about what I use everyday. Its also my first YouTube vid so please be nice :)
Of all the things included in my everyday makeup bag my absolute must have is easily my Bobbi brown tinted moisturiser. I have been using it in the daytime for about 3 years and its great. It hydrates my skin and although it doesn't offer great coverage that's not really what I want it for. I have dry skin so I use this product to even my skin tone, give my skin a glow and, most importantly not dry it out. Its quite expensive for a tinted moisturiser (approx £26) but I just feel that its taken me many years to find something that works for my skin and I don't mind spending a bit more, especially as one tube lasts ages :)

Also I love the hush cream colour base and 17 bramble frost combination. I just dab the Hush on with my finger and then lightly brush on the powder blush and build the colour slowly. It really has lasting power thanks to the CCB and adds a light, wearable flush of colour that is suitable for everyday use. I really recommend this.

Regarding the mascara which i didn't really chat about its not great. I don't think i would repurchase. It has a good fat brush however I have begun to find it clumpy and not very lenghtening. Despite this is still love max factor mascaras; especially Masterpiece!
The concealer and eyebrow kit are both pretty good. They are, my opinion reasonably priced and based on this I think the perform very well! I get my brows tinted but as they are so fair the colour fades within days. This ELF kit is perfect for enchancng my brows and is really easy to use. The only downfall is that by the end of the day the colour has faded. However im pretty sure that this is due to my blonder than blonde brows :( it wouldnt be as noticable on those with darker hair

My next offering will be a video on dry skin products, most from drugstore brands :)

Do you have any recommendations of good tinted moisturisers or a blush combo that you cant live without?
